On a street where tree planting was a challenge, three meters high 'Living Pillars' by Scotscape, were introduced with an ambition to create a green corridor in the area. Attached to lampposts, the pillars contain bird and insect boxes, solar panels and monitoring tech for efficient watering and maintenance.
The Wild Street by Jan Kattein Architects completes a new connection between a Primary School and community hall. While continuing to allow emergency vehicle access, every available scrap of tarmac has been removed to make way for rain gardens, trees and above-ground planters for the school to cultivate.
